Icicle lights are an outstanding way to create a beautiful Christmas tree and a perfect display around your home. Or, consider purchasing even smaller version that cost a bit less and add just as much pizzazz to the room with a bit less use of electricity!

When purchasing icicle lights for your home; pay attention to the details of the product. How long will they last you? And, what amount of money will you be investing in keeping the up and running? Compare your options. You also may want to consider installing an automatic timer that will turn them on and off when you need them to be. These are available for both indoor and outdoor use. Be sure to choose ones that are able to be used for the total wattage of the icicle lights that you select. Be sure that the have the UL rating on them (which means that they are safe to use according to the Underwriters Laboratories. And, never use indoor lights outdoors as they can easily cause electrical problems. Be sure too that your home can handle the watts that you are installing and that you do not overload the electrical circuits.
Using Them Throughout The House
Be sure to realize that hot bulbs that are not protected can start a fire with dry tree branches. Keep lights strings and the cords you use to plug them in out of water. You should be careful with all of your plants and be sure that they are fully watered well before the holiday season's decorations are attached. One of the problems with these lights is attaching them to the home. A good tip for this is to use a yard stick attached to the house that will hold the lights and can easily b taken down all at one time.
